Vital Metrics at Your Command

One of the most touted features of SharePoint is its business intelligence capabilities, including comprehensive dashboards. Working with your existing SharePoint  farm, Abel Solutions can help your team harness the decision-making might of SharePoint  Business Intelligence with our BI FastStart offering.

In a matter of weeks, the project will move from start to finish; from business goal to bottom-line benefits, including on-site, in-depth analysis, engagement, design and implementation, final data validation and stakeholder training. Abel Solutions expertise and best-practices approach ensures your SharePoint dashboards become powerful tools to address your company’s specific business challenges.

The Abel Solutions BI FastStart process includes:

SharePoint Farm Health Check — Conduct a brief review of the SharePoint farm to validate setup and document recommendations for best practices. The review will focus on the components of the SharePoint environment related to or required for the BI initiative.

Business Intelligence Functionality Review — Perform in-depth review of Microsoft Business Intelligence functionality and key application areas for IT and business stakeholders.

Business Intelligence Blueprint Development — Meet with stakeholders to identify and fine-tune two business measurements for each of two different business units/departments of your choosing (four metrics total) to be tracked via the web-based dashboard.

Business Intelligence Dashboard Pages

  • Create four dashboard pages; one for each of the four metrics targeted during Blueprint Development.
  • Work with a database administrator to identify existing line-of-business systems from which to source data.
  • Leverage existing data repositories such as SQL Server Analysis Services cubes and SQL Server databases to support dashboard pages.
  • Create SharePoint lists to capture supplemental data to support the dashboard pages, where applicable.

Data Verification — Validate data reported on dashboards with subject matter experts.

Training —Develop and provide training materials to provide an overview of the dashboard design via PerformancePoint Services, Excel Services, and/or Excel PowerPivot. Provide cross-training to IT department and business stakeholders throughout the course of the dashboard construction process.
