David J. Hammond
David Hammond is president of Abel Solutions. He joined the team as vice president of solutions delivery in April 2005 where he was responsible for management and delivery of all Abel Solutions information worker and application development projects.
Prior to joining Abel Solutions, Hammond was VP of operations for LaVista Consulting, an information technology solutions firm focused on the energy industry, and LaVista Resources, a recruiting and staffing organization. He has also served as director of an industry solutions consulting practice with Computer Associates’ Global Professional Services and held a number of senior management positions with start-up technology and successful established consulting companies, including Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Hammond is a graduate of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a 2004 graduate of Leadership North Fulton. He served as Class Chair for Leadership North Fulton in 2007 and served on the Board of Directors for the program from 2005-2010. Hammond is also a founding member of The Drake House and has served on its board since 2004. He also previously served on the Board of Directors of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the Forsyth County Judicial Citizens Review Panel.
Scott Burba is Vice President of Abel Solutions. He joined the team in 2018 to lead the firm’s business development and sales effort, for which his primary responsibilities are sales, business development and client relationship management. In the position of Vice President, Burba also helps devise and execute strategic initiatives including market positioning, service offering development and client growth to enhance Abel Solutions’ market presence and exposure.
Prior to joining Abel Solutions, Burba was a co-founder of Commence Consulting, LLC, which offers an array of business management solutions, including business process alignment. Burba also co-founded BE Consulting, LLC, which was later acquired by Northridge Systems, Inc., where Burba served as Senior VP, Delivery. There, he actively participated in solution delivery functions including designing client-specific solutions, account management, contract negotiations and team onboarding.
Prior to those achievements, Burba served in a series of progressively responsible positions with prestigious firms including Alliance Data, Novient, Inc., Computer Associates, Inc. and Accenture. Burba graduated Cum Laude from Duke University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Jason Bell is Chief Technologist of Abel Solutions. He joined the team in 2019 to provide guidance and insight to our clients looking to transform their business through technology. In the position of Chief Technologist, Mr. Bell works to craft an organization’s vision for innovation through the development of strategies that leverage a unique understanding of each client’s culture.
Mr. Bell has almost thirty years of experience working in the technology industry. An entrepreneurial innovator, he worked in several ground-breaking start-ups developing web-based and mobile solutions. He then moved into the public sector working in government managing a wide portfolio of technologies including collaboration portals, PeopleSoft HRMS, ESRI based Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and election voter technologies. Prior to joining Abel Solutions, Jason has spent more than a decade as a Senior Solution Architect at Perficient delivering solutions based on the Microsoft technology stack and developing digital transformation strategies through consulting with Fortune 100 firms.
Prior to entering technology, Mr. Bell was the founder of a non-profit on the border of Mexico and the United States working to alleviate the housing shortage. Jason attended Wheaton College (IL) where his liberal arts education was focused on the study of ancient and medieval history. In his free time, you can find Jason with friends cheering on the Atlanta United Football Club along with all their affiliate clubs and soccer academies.
Mike Murray joined Applied Technical Services (ATS), the parent company of Abel Solutions, in November 1996 and currently serves as the IT director where he is responsible for planning, managing and organizing the IT infrastructure and information systems across the organization. He joined the board of Abel Solutions in December 2015 and currently serves as vice president and is responsible for delivery of IT Services to small and midsized businesses.
Prior to joining ATS and Abel Solutions, Murray served in the U.S. Air Force during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He was part of the Security Forces law enforcement group and a military working dog (MWD) handler from 1990 to 1994. While on active duty, he took advantage of the education opportunities afforded to the military and attended college where he was able to take numerous computer programming classes and developed a passion for Information Technology.
Murray is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science. Throughout his career, Murray has continued to expand his knowledge of information systems and enjoys finding efficient ways to deliver meaningful data to people. Primarily self-taught, he has extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and has developed many database systems to manage business information.
Murray has an entrepreneurial spirit and formed an IT Services business unit at ATS in 1999. Leveraging expertise gained while supporting the ATS corporate IT environment, this group started offering computer services to companies around the Atlanta Metro area. This business unit merged with Abel Solutions during the middle of 2016 and continues to support many of the customers it started with more than 15 years ago.
Kevin Abel is founder, past president and currently serves on the board of directors of Abel Solutions, a company that he founded in 1995 with his wife Cindy. Prior to forming Abel, Kevin was a project manager with BellSouth Entertainment in Atlanta and a senior consultant with the Advanced Systems Group at Andersen Consulting in Dallas, Texas.
A native of South Africa, he came to the United States with his family in 1979. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, where Kevin received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1987.
Abel serves on the Board of Directors of Refugee Resettlement & Immigration Services of Atlanta and the Board of Directors for The Davis Academy.
Abel is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Atlanta. He is a former finalist for the Atlanta Small Business Person of the Year Award and was previously named to the Georgia Trend 40 under 40 list. He is a past Chairman of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council and a former member of the Board of the Arthritis Foundation (Georgia Chapter) and the Board of Councilors for The Carter Center.
