Microsoft OneNote is a great note-taking tool that you may already be using to manage your notes. Did you know about the OneNote integration with SharePoint 2013? The OneNote feature can be activated by the site owner from the Site Features page.
Activating this feature will add a “Notebook” link to the quick launch of your site. When you click on this Notebook link, OneNote will open in the browser. The browser of OneNote is fully functional. You could use the browser version exclusively; however you do have the option to open this notebook in the local OneNote client as well.
Why keep your OneNote notebooks in SharePoint?
- Share the same OneNote notebook with other members of your team. You don’t need to send notes to each other because you all have access to the same notebook.
- Have a single notebook for your project that contains all of your meeting notes, ideas, discussions, tasks, etc.
- Collaborate with others on your team simultaneously. You will literally see each other’s updates almost immediately.
- OneNote highlights new and updated content made by your team members. This is useful to quickly see what has changed and keep up to date with the latest notes.
