FastPortal
Abel Solutions FastPortal™ is the bundling of a foundation SharePoint portal, templates, worksheets and training with a service delivery methodology that allows a company to get up and running with a SharePoint Portal in less than 4 weeks.
The FastPortal methodology is depicted below.
Two key components of FastPortal are:
- FastPortal Foundation™- a foundational SharePoint portal developed by Abel Solutions and provided as a starting point for implementing each FastPortal customer’s unique portal.
- FastPortal Blueprint™ - a series of worksheets that when completed define and describe the structured and unstructured information classes for business areas or departments in the organization that will be addressed by the portal.
The participants in a FastPortal engagement include the following. Note that in many cases one person might take on multiple roles:
- Abel Solutions FastPortal Consultant
- Client Executive Sponsor
- Client Network Administrator
- Client IT Analyst
The five phases of the FastPortal methodology are:
- Blueprinting - The project is initiated with a stakeholder meeting. Detailed presentations describing the core capabilities of the SharePoint platform are delivered. The FastPortal Blueprint is completed.
- Design & Implementation - SharePoint is installed and configured; FastPortal Foundation is installed and enhanced according to FastPortal Blueprint output.
- Quality Assurance - A quality inspection takes place where key pieces of functionality and key components of requirements are verified.
- Training - Central Administration and Site/Content Administration training is delivered.
- Support - As a follow-up to the implementation and training sessions, the SharePoint Consultant will address support questions and issues during a half day on site session within two weeks after training completion.
