Abel Solutions Increases Utilization of SharePoint Document Management Solution for Jamestown Properties

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) July 22, 2011—Abel Solutions, Atlanta’s only consulting firm focusing on the delivery of real business solutions on the SharePoint platform, today announced they have been engaged by real-estate investment and management firm Jamestown Properties to develop a custom productivity component for their SharePoint document management system.

The solution addresses one of the biggest objections organizations face when evaluating using SharePoint for document management: quickly and easily appending appropriate meta-data to documents so that they can be easily found later.

Abel Solutions first helped the firm deploy their SharePoint-based document management solution in 2008. However, company growth and excessive document production outside the core system led Jamestown to seek a significant, customized expansion.

“Since the initial implementation, we have brought on additional companies and have had additional focus items come under our purview,” says Jamestown IT Director Chuck Niswonger. “Meanwhile the task of importing outside data into the document management system –sometimes thousands of files for a single property – has overwhelmed our users and left them reluctant to use the system.”

The new solution will help expedite document uploading and increase user compliance by employing implicit metadata (that which is evident from the document path) to auto-populate system as well as organization-required meta-data about a document at the time of upload.
