Abel Solutions Deploys Electronic Records Management System
for Rockdale County

Abel Solutions announced today that they have deployed an Electronic Records Management System for Rockdale County. The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners elected to deploy the system as part of their overall disaster recovery plan and to help improve citizen access to important county records.
Beginning this week, citizens will be able to gain easy online access to meeting agendas of the Board of Commissioners as well as contracts, resolutions, budgets and ordinances.
The county typically receives 10-15 requests each week for assistance in finding records. The system will make processing Open Records requests from the public much easier.
“Citizens like to do their own research and don’t want to have to file an Open Records Act request,” explains County Clerk Jennifer Rutledge. “With our prior system, they had difficulty locating the documents they wanted because they were only able to search by document title and date. Now that we use optical character recognition (OCR) technology to scan every word inside the documents, citizens are able to search the entire documents to find what they want. The OCR is magic.”
Soon Rockdale County will be able to load not only meeting minutes and contracts into their electronic records management system but also building permits, business licenses, election records, probate records and hundreds of other record types.
“Already Electronic Records Management systems are saving storage space, improving citizen access and helping government entities across Georgia protect their most important records from the disasters,” stated Kevin Abel, President of Abel Solutions. “Now the citizens of Rockdale County can benefit from this robust and easy-to-use solution.”
