Abel Solutions' Mark Henderson Presents ISO 9001 Document Control with SharePoint at PMI Atlanta Luncheon
March 10, 2010
Abel Solutions, a leading application developer and Microsoft SharePoint solution provider, announced today that Senior Consultant Mark Henderson will be presenting at the April Luncheon meeting of the Atlanta Chapter of the Project Management Institute. Henderson's presentation will describe and demonstrate the value of SharePoint as a platform for ISO 9001 Document Control.
For companies whose customers demand that their supplier confirm to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, satisfying and implementing all the requirements of the ISO standard can be a major undertaking requiring support of the entire organization. The intent of this presentation is to describe how Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 can be used as a tool during this undertaking, specifically in satisfying the requirements stated in Section 4.2.3 Control of Documentation.
In order to be ISO 9001:2008 certified, your organization must develop and document a procedure to control quality documents. The requirements of ISO 9001:2008 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product provided. Remember the guidance offered by the standard is prescriptive rather than descriptive. In other words, how you implement control of quality documents is up to you, as long as you show that you have satisfied the stated requirements.
The luncheon is being hosted at The Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta on April 5 at 11:30 AM. For more information or to register, go to: http://www.pmiatlanta.org/article.html?aid=648
