Abel Solutions Deploys SharePoint-based Quality Management System for Nucor Steel

Abel Solutions, a leading Microsoft SharePoint solution provider, announced today the delivery of a Quality Management System to Nucor Steel Memphis, Inc. The portal was constructed using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) to help support the quality and safety standards required by Nucor to maintain their ISO9001 certification.

The application was developed using core SharePoint functionality along with key customizations, including workflows, to facilitate the document authoring, modification and approval processes that are integral to Nucor’s business. The solution also includes a component to allow for the submission and processing of CAR/PAR (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) requests. Finally, the application serves as a Learning Management System by providing support for their employee training database by recording the dissemination of quality documentation as well as tracking training requirements for individual workers or classes of employees.
