Abel Solutions to Deploy SharePoint for Theragenics Corporation
Using FastPortal™ Methodology
October 16, 2009
Abel Solutions, a leading Microsoft SharePoint solution provider, announced today that they have been selected by Theragenics Corporation to deploy their Microsoft SharePoint portal. Abel Solutions will use their FastPortal™ methodology to help stand up a SharePoint portal for the Buford, Georgia-based medical devices company in a matter of weeks.
Theragenics plans to use their SharePoint portal for document management and collaboration among teams of engineers at different locations.
“Currently our engineers email documents back and forth between the parent company and our three subsidiaries when they need help solving a problem,” explains JohnE D. Mullin, Manager, Information Technology for Theragenics.
With SharePoint, Theragenics will alleviate their dependence on mail and create a platform for sharing of information.
“Although our IT dept is growing, we still don’t have the SharePoint expertise necessary for this deployment,” concluded Mullin. “We’re looking for Abel to help us get it installed and also provide training so we can capture the expertise for minor projects.”
The Abel Solutions’ FastPortal™ is a foundation SharePoint portal bundled with templates, worksheets and training, and a service delivery methodology that allows organizations to get up and running with a SharePoint Portal in significantly less time that it would take them to deploy the solution internally.
Each FastPortal deployment is comprised of two key deliverables:
FastPortal Foundation™- a foundational SharePoint portal developed by Abel Solutions and provided as a starting point for implementing each FastPortal customer’s unique portal.
FastPortal Blueprint™- a series of worksheets that when completed define and describe the structured and unstructured information classes for business areas or departments in the organization that will be addressed by the portal.
“Despite the tremendous market demand for SharePoint we’re still finding that many organizations are having difficulty determining how to get started,” explained Kevin Abel, President of Abel Solutions. “With FastPortal™, we can address those concerns and make it easier for companies across Georgia to take advantage of the robust features and functionality of SharePoint.”
